Free Movie Day

Where everyone belongs.

We create opportunities for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to live fuller, more connected lives across Benton and Franklin Counties, building places where they are welcomed, celebrated, and empowered to reach their fullest potential.

Our History in Service Since 1952

Built by parents. Carried by community.

In 1952, a group of parents living in Benton and Franklin counties came together with one unwavering belief: their children deserved the same opportunities as everyone else. At a time when many individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities were denied an education and excluded from their communities, these families became advocates for change. Their efforts helped pave the way for the educational rights and opportunities that exist today.

More than 70 years later, The Arc of Tri-Cities continues that mission. Every day, individuals gain confidence, build friendships, learn new skills, and experience the joy of belonging. Families receive education, advocacy, respite, and the support they need to thrive.

What We Do

Programs that change lives, every day.

100% of all donations go directly into services. Every dollar raised powers the programs our families count on all year long.

Scholarships

Reduced program fees for individuals living on less than $1,000 per month, so financial hardship is never a barrier to participation.

Community Access

Opportunities for 192 adults each week to build independence, friendships, and life skills through year-round day programs.

Special Olympics

Helping 356 local athletes train, compete, and achieve success through year-round sports and leadership opportunities.

Partners n' Pals Summer Camps

More than 200 children and young adults, ages 3 to 22, enjoy 8 to 9 weeks of inclusive summer day camps each year.

Buddy Club & Volunteer Training

Inclusive school-based friendship clubs, plus training and support for more than 100 youth volunteers every summer.

Family Support & Advocacy

Education, resources, support groups, access to professionals, and advocacy that protects the rights of individuals with I/DD.

Every dollar raised stays right here in the Tri-Cities, supporting summer camps, respite services, and year-round friendship, recreation, and sports programs for individuals with I/DD and their families.
Why We Fundraise

Belonging should never depend on a budget.

For many families in our community, experiences most of us take for granted are out of reach. Cost, accessibility, and transportation stand in the way of everyday joys, and fundraising is how we remove those barriers.

Our Free Movie Day is one example. Each fall, families and individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, along with their friends and loved ones, enjoy a free movie in an environment designed for comfort, acceptance, and belonging, including sensory-friendly and Spanish-language showings.

For many families, it is a rare opportunity to simply relax, have fun, and create lasting memories together. That is what every dollar we raise makes possible, on movie day and every day after.
