Volunteers
Ages 14 and up are welcome to apply to be a volunteer for our Summer Camp!
Our camps serve children with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities ages 7-22
Requirements:
have transportation to and from location (we have over 200 kids we serve in camp which means every spot on the bus is for filled)
able to pass a background check (if under 18, we run a WA state patrol background)
attend trainings (Friday June 12th, Monday June 15th & Tuesday June 16th)
Willing heart ready to play and have fun with our campers!
There are two different type of camps:
Partners N Pals Jr. : This camp serves kids ages 2-7. It’s M-Th 9:30-11:30am. This camp is all about playing! We have water activities, toys, and games. Your job as a volunteer is to help the staff and CITs keep these campers playing and having a good time. This camp stays in one location for the full time unlike Partners N Pals Sr. Volunteers are required to have transportation to and from the location. Volunteers will not be paid for their time but can use us as a reference and for volunteer hours. You can pick and choose which weeks you’re available.
Partners N Pals Sr: This camp serves kids ages 7-22. It’s M-F full days, typically starting around 8:30 am and ending roughly about 4 (camp time is from 10-3). This camp is all about having fun and making friends. We are a door-to-door service, which means we pick the participants up at their houses and travel with them in vans throughout the day, as well as taking them home. We travel all over the Tri Cities, going to parks, swimming pools, movies, etc. This is a volunteer position, but it comes with an Educational Stipend and the amount depends on the number of weeks you attend. A minimum of 4 weeks is required.
