Partners ‘N Pals Summer Camp Drivers

 

The Arc of Tri-Cities is looking for individuals who are interested in working with children that have disabilities at a local Summer Day Camp Program. Must be creative, positive, energetic, fun, able to swim daily, have the ability to be a good role model, and able to have 5 hours of fun in the sun daily.

Applicant Requirements:

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Have a clean driving record for that last 3 years
  • Have at least 5 years driving experience
  • Able to pass a DSHS background check
  • Able to pass a drug test
  • Experience working with children and adults that have disabilities is helpful but not required

Interviews will begin on May 6th. Driver trainings begin May 22nd. The summer camp and day programs start on Wednesday, June 19th and run for 9 weeks, Monday through Friday until August 16th, with July 4th and 5th off. Applicants will be working between 6-8 hours daily and about 35 hours a week.

Wage:

Drivers will receive $12/hour during training and after successfully completing training $12.50/hour.

Part-Time Direct Service Specialist - mutliple positions available

Looking for an enthusiastic individual who loves working with people for an open position in our Adult Day Programs department. This position is part-time and involves providing direct service (including recreation and personal care) for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in one-on-one and group community settings in our Day Program and VIP program.

  • Physically able to stand for 2 hours at a time

Part-Time Paratransit Bus Driver

Job Description

The Paratransit Bus Driver is a caring, compassionate individual, who is responsible for transporting clients with developmental and intellectual disabilities to specific locations within the Tri-Cities, in support of programming, employment and recreational opportunities offered by The Arc of Tri-Cities, Adult Day Services, Columbia Industries and Goodwill Industries.

This is a permanent part-time position ranging from 15 to 30 hours per week. Operating hours are typically 6:30 AM to 6:00 PM Monday through Friday. The Arc is considering adding a full-time position as well, which will be 35-40 hours per week with major medical insurance, paid vacation and paid holidays.

Mandatory Qualifications and Educational Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED equivalency
  • Possess or be able to obtain an unrestricted Washington State driver’s license
  • Provide an acceptable Complete Drivers Abstract from the WA Dept. of Licensing
  • Five (5) years driving experience
  • Meet driver eligibility criteria
  • Ability to complete formal training curriculum
  • Satisfactorily pass a DSHS background check
  • Possess or ability to obtain valid First Aid/CPR/AED certification.
  • Negative result on a DOT-required pre-employment drug screening, random testing thereafter
  • Ability to bend, kneel, stretch and turn as appropriate to properly secure passenger wheelchairs

Wage

Starting hourly wage is the applicable Washington State Minimum Wage ($12.00 per hour, as of 1/1/19), increasing to $13.60 per hour after satisfactory completion of a 90-day probationary period.

  • Meet Ben Franklin Transit driver eligibility criteria

  • Ability to complete Ben Franklin Transit training curriculum

  • Satisfactorily pass a DSHS background check

  • Possess or ability to obtain valid First Aid/CPR/AED certification.

  • Provide an acceptable Complete Drivers Abstract from the WA Dept. of Licensing

  • Ability to pass and maintain DOT-required drug & alcohol testing and physical requirements
